    I have 6 home-raised Chambeyronia macrocarpa palmswhich I am auctioning off. This is a veryshowy palm, famous for theburgandy red newly-opened leaf. The Chambeyroniais highly sought after for its ornamental qualities~not to mention its lovely form. This rare palmhas been aptly nicknamed the “Red Flame Palm” ~ “Red Flame Thrower Palm” ~Red Leaf Palm~Red FeatherPalm”~”Blushing Palm” and “Watermelon Palm”.This palmlives up to all of those names with Zest & Zeal! The palms you see in the photographs are the ACTUAL palms for sale. They are 6 years old, in 7 gallon containers and are approximately 5′-6″ in height. Thus, the “LOCAL PICK UP ONLY”. I live in West Palm Beach, Florida just off Interstate 95. These particular palms are difficult to find ~ especially after all the hurricanes we have had. I brought these in my garage when Frances, Jeanne and Wilma came to town. This same size palmwould cost 3 times thisamountin California. About the Chambeyronia macrocarpa! From: New Caledonia rainforest Height: 30-40 feet Trunk: Smooth, solitary, evenly ringed. Prominent green crownshaft with blue-green mottling (thus the Watermelon Palm). Diameter up to 10″. Culture: Highly adaptable, but since they are from a rainforest - they prefer to be partially shaded (at least while young). They do best in rich, humus-laden soil with plenty of water but are somewhat forgiving with other conditions. Zones: 10 & 11 (sub tropical). Can tolerate down to 27 degrees, but only for a short period. The new red leaf packs such a punch and will just about take your breath away with the contrast of the red and rich green crownshaft!
