    This bush (in the picture) has been growing in my yard for about 25 years. I got it from a root cutting of my Dad’s bush which he planted in the 50’s from a root cutting of my Grandma’s bush which she had had since time began. Well, not really, but her bush predates my memory. But that being said, it is not what they call an “old-fashioned” lilac. I have one of those, too, which was also from my Grandma’s bush, but they have smaller, thinner clusters of flowers and smaller flowers. This is a French hybrid. The aroma is even better than the old fashioned one, too. These are hardy and tough bushes that can grow quite tall if you let them. Mine is about 10-12′ tall but I try to keep it about there so I can cut off the dead heads once it finally quits blooming. They are one of the first things to bloom in the spring and there is really nothing quite so wonderful as the smell of a lilac bush in full bloom!! The bush stays beautiful and green until frost. They make wonderful cut flowers. Submerge the woody stems in water immediately upon cutting. Your whole house will be perfumed! You will be receiving root cuttings that are 2 or more years old, well rooted, prunedand bare root. Plant in a sunny location. If too much shade, it will still be a pretty green bush, but won’t bloom much. Special deal. If price goes $5 and above, the second one is half price and no additional shipping!
