Heirloom Rose Unknown Found Rose Blush Beauty Mystery Beautiful Old Found Rose, probably a Bourbon type. This is a4" starter plant forthis verylovely oldfound rose. The plant you will receiveis growing in a 4" pot in is 6" to 8" tall. It is unlikely that the plant you receive will have buds or blooms at the time it is shipped. I recommend this plant be repotted into a larger pot and allowed to root out for 10-12 weeks before planting in to the landscape. Check out the excellent commercial plant food product available in the store. This high quality food will get your new plant off to a very good start. Ordering your fertilize and plant combined results in significant savings on the shipping. 2 4" Roses will combine in a Flat Rate Box with plant food for $12.90. (Please email me if you want this combination, as the shipping cost will need to be adjusted manually). I wish I could tell you all about this beautiful rose, but I do not know her true name. I bought it about 10 years ago and believed it to be Souvenir De St. Anne, but I am no longer sure. The bush has never grown taller than 4′. The branches are slender and nearly thornless. It throws some scattered bloom here all year, but only is at full beauty in the early spring and late fall, preferring cool days and nights ( remember cool here is 50-60 degrees). I would be confident in saying this rose would probably perform well to at least Zone 7 and maybe colder, as it definitely prefers cooler temps .The foliage is delicate, dense and tight.I suspectit is a sport from St. Anne’s and bears some similarities, but also some differences. I will have to defer to those more expert on old roses than me to say for sure. The plant responds nicely to heavy feeding, becoming dense and lush green. The bloom is about 2-3" across and opens somewhat whorled and crested in the center. The center is blush pink with the outer petals being the ivory cream of an old wedding gown. It has a somewhat spicy classic rose scent and I would rate it as about 7 on a 1-10 smell scale. This is, nonetheless, a beautiful, fragrant old rose worth a spot in any rose garden and quite willing to grow and provide beauty under any name. She is dainty, elegant and classy, making stunning statement as a mass planting, but plenty lovely enough to stand all alone. Perhaps you’d like to give one a home in your garden. If any one recognizes the flower and would like to add information, please contact me. If you have any questions about, shipping, cultivation, or anything else, please email me at emerald@strato.net.
