    This auction if forone cymbidium orchid currently growing in a 125mm pot, named Valley Splash ‘Prolific’ - Parentage is Hazel Tyres X Vivacous. The plant on offer is a near flowering size mericlone. It will have at least one bulb and one lead. With good growing conditions it should flower next year. Colour: Yellow/Orange Splash Flowering Time: July/August Flower Size: 100-110mm Spike Habit: Upright Flower Count: Expect14+ flowers per spike once plant reaches a size of 2-3 bulbs and 18+ Flowers once it reaches 4-5 bulbs. Another top quality Valley Splash variety. As its name suggests this one is extremely free flowering, producing multiple upright flower spikes carrying unusual coloured yellow/orange blooms. Very limited in supply. When in flower your cymbidiumorchid can be kept inside the house in a coolish position and flowers can last in excess of 2 months, though it is recommended that it is only kept inside for a few weeks and then returned outside. Cymbidiums grow easily in southern states (VIC, SA, WA, TAS and NSW). They can be grown successfully in northern more tropical areas by providing cooling growing periods around sunset prior to flowering, to initiate flower spikes. They require a temperature drop of at least 10 degrees in the evenings around Christmas to initiate flower spikes for the following season. Cymbidium Orchids grow best in filtered light (about 50%) and regular watering and fertilising, particularly throughout summer. Our orchids are sent on the first Monday after payment has been received. We can now send plants to TAS and WA, though plants have to be bare rooted.
