Description
Drosera intermedia(Spoonleaf Spatulate Sundew) The tiny spoon-like hairy leaves are covered with drops of sticky goo, which trap insects that are attracted to the plant. In summer the sundews are topped with thin spikes holding small white flowers. This Sundew is winter hardy in most of the US and even into Canada. They can also be grown in pots and terrariums as a house plant.
Drosera intermedia, commonly known as the Spoonleaf or Spatulate Leaf Sundew, is a small, perennial sundew. This species has long narrow pedicels that point in the air at all angles, making a sort of hemisphere of death.
Drosera intermedia cultivation is considered to be among the easiest among the genus, similar to that of Drosera capensis. Plants should be grown in a nutrient-free potting mix (such as sphagnum peat moss and washed sand), given high levels of light, and kept constantly watered using distilled, RO, or sterile rain water. Dormancy is not required.
