Lemon Grass 25 seeds - Packaged for 2008 Cymbopogon citratus
You are bidding on 25 seeds of the herb Lemon Grass. It’s easy to grow and blooms the first year. An essential herb for Asian cuisine, the leaves and stems of lemon grass can be used fresh or dried to impart a distinct lemon flavor. It also makes a wonderful ingredient for hot teas. This clump-forming perennial resembles an ornamental grass with its aromatic cane-like stems arising from a central base. The lemon-scented, linear, strap leaves reach 3 feet long, falling over at the tip. Lemon grass thrives in moist soil and full sun, growing 3 to 5 feet tall. Grow in containers so that the plant can be moved indoors during winter in colder climates. Heat and drought tolerant. Grow in moist, well-drained soil. Outdoors can be grown in full sun to partial shade. Sowing/Growing Instructions: Sow seeds bout 1/8â€� deep, tiny seeds surface sow and press lightly, in moist soil with good drainage. Keep soil moist. Place pots/tray in plastic bag and seal. Most seeds will germinate in 10-15 days. Once seeds have germinated remove from bag. Place in bright indirect light. Thin or transplant when seedlings are 2-3â€� high. Grow in full sun. Pinch top to encourage bushiness. Seeds may be started indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Outdoors can be grow in full sun to partial shade. Pinch the growing tips of young plants to encourage branching. I recommend adding mulch on top of the soil in pots or the ground to hold moisture and reduce weed growth. Fertilize every other month with a general purpose fertilizer, a 10-10-10 mix works well. Shipping and Handling
Seeds, cuttings and supplies are shipped with 48 hrs. of receipt of payment, USPS First Class Mail, Monday-Saturday, excluding holidays. Live plants are shipped USPS Priority Mail on Mondays and Tuesdays ONLY. Shipping for the first plant is $5.25, add $.75 for each additional plant. Shipping for large plants is slightly higher and will be calculated at invoicing. Orders may be combined to save on shipping. Auctions must end within 7 days of the first auction won and paid with one invoice. Multiple payments do NOT qualify for a shipping discount, even if shipped together.
Shipping for seed packs is $2.25 for up to 10 packs of seed, unless noted otherwise. Price includes delivery confirmation. All seeds are shipped in bubble mailers for protection. Sowing instructions are included. I will NOT be held responsible for orders that are late, lost, stolen, misdirected or damaged.
Overseas: Now shipping seeds ONLY outside the USA to the following ONLY: Canada, UK (Europe), Australia. Shipping & handling fees are $2.95 for up to 10 packs of seed, unless otherwise noted.
