A tea can be made from the leaves which will have a sedative effect.Its a real bonus for the cooks or herbalists garden and, which is why I grew it at first, the odour of the plants keeps rats away so I used to plant this all around our bin area. Try to protect you young plants from cats as they will destroy them to get the scent. Once grown, remove any bruised stalks as they’ll go for them too.
