Platinum Blue Globe Thistle (Echinops ruthenicus ‘Platinum Blue’)
Large violet-blue globes of flowers are held high on branching silver stems which are clothed in thistle-lie foliage. The basal leaves of this species are deeply divided. Prefers full sun and grows in any soil. Good border and specimen plants. Most effective as part of a mix with other flowers of contrasting color and shape. Very good for cut or dried flowers. Very hardy and undemanding species for naturalizing. Good rebloomer.
