A dense tight growing cold hardy shrub with leaves that are ruby red when the first emerge and then range through tones of bronze and varying shades of green. The leaves are delightful on their on, but then you get the added pop that it is covered with frazzled fringy pink flowers in the spring and fall.
The literature lists it evergreen thru zone 7 and supports hardiness at least as far north as Virginia. However, I have received ancedotal reports from customers growing it further north, but it does loose it’s leaves go completely dormant in the colder regions. It also makes a very attractive potted specimen plant.
Loropetalums are native to China and the Himalayas. The cultivar I am offering will grow to about 6-7 feet tall when mature, if left unpruned. However, it can be easily pruned and maintained at a lower height. It is easy to grow and does not require a lot of maintenance. Prefers to be kept uniformly moist, but not wet in neutral to slightly acidic soil. Good nutrition is important for maximum vibrant color in the leaves. Fertilize 2x year with a good quality slow release fertilize.
Great impact in mass plantings, very adaptable and trainable for small trees and espaliers.

Ship To Destinations:
At this time, I do not ship outside the United States, except to Canada. Canadian buyers are responsible for any duty or import taxes that may be required. These ARE NOT included in the shipping cost paid to us. We are required by law to correctly identify and disclose the contents of our packages, and all the appropriate export stamps and certifications that are needed for legal export will accompany your shipment.
Average time for delivery to Canada is about 6-10 days from the date of shipment.
Canadian shipments are only made on Monday unless they are for expedited service. Combined shipments that are too heavy for USPS Priority Mail are shipped UPS and may incur brokerage or sur charges that are not included in the shipping price you pay to us.
We recommend shipping to Alaska during summer months only.
We are fully certified for shipping throughout the United States and do not charge sur charges for Alaska or Hawaii.
Winter Shipments
We recommend that those in colder zones wait to place orders until Spring. There is significant risk of cold damage to tropical and subtropical species when shipping through very cold regions when there are extended temps below freezing.

Shipping for a Gift:

Review your invoice for the correct ship to address. This is very important, as attempting manual changes after the sale increases the chance for errors.
I will gussy up the wrapping, put in a card and omit the invoice. Gift wrap charge is $3.00.
Gifts can’t be combined with other orders, unless they are shipping to the same address.
Shipping Delays:
We strive to be a Five Star Seller, and ship as quickly as we can, as much as we would like to ship daily, experience has shown that shipping late in the week results greatly increase the chance of unecessary delay and damage. Barring circumstances beyond our control, we always ship when we say we will.
The following circumstance will cause extended handling time, and delays in shipping:
Postal Holidays that fall on Mon-Wed. Echecks or any other form of payment that Pay Pal holds.
Paying with a form of payment not approved by eBay by regular mail.
The following may cause your ship date to be delayed:
Payments made after noon Wed-Sun.
Weather extremes. If we feel the risk of damage to your plants is high, we will postpone your shipment during periods of bad weather. However, we will let you know if this should happen, and give you the option of cancelling the order if you prefer.
Combined Shipping:
Orders for multiple items or different listings are always combined for the lowest possible shipping cost. There is variation in size and weight and what will fit together in which carton, so there are too many variables to give a flat price for combined shipping. If you would like a shipping quote prior to purchasing, then please email a list of the items you are interested in and your zip code. Otherwise, the items will automatically combine at checkout.
Some items are too large to be combined and generally are so noted in the listing..please email with any questions.
Refunds & Returns:

Shipping problems are rare, but do happen occassionally. The cost of insurance is included in your shipping and handling fee. Please notify us immediately if your plants do not arrive in good condition. The problem will be handled quickly and courteously, but it is important that you let us know the day the shipment arrives. We may need pictures. You will not be required to return the plant.
A Note on Toxicity Info
For those with small children and pets, allergies, or other toxicity concerns. My best advice is to treat all ornamental plants as toxic unless you do the research yourself to determine otherwise. Sensitivity to certain plants can vary greatly from individual to individual. Please use common sense.
