Amaryllis Belladonna. (Callicore rosea)
Leaves on Amaryllis Belladonna grow in clumps, spreading up to a few feet wide in fall. Amaryllis has a strong scent scented 4 inch flowers on reddish 2-5 foot stems.
Will grow in almost any soil. Drought resistant. Plant bulbs so that tops are even with or a little above the soil.
May be left in the soil year around. In early fall, right after the blooms, is the best time for transplanting. Refuses to bloom for 4-5 years if disturbed in the wrong season.
Plant in clumps or borders preferably behind perennials or annuals. Allow room for adjacent plants.
Amaryllis and Belladonna are long time favorites for their large blooms.
