    Purple Flowering Water Hyacinth A medium to large growing, very green, floating pond plant.This is the Purple Flowering Water hyacinth. It blooms when the night time temperature is 70-80 degrees. The plants ship fist sized in early spring but quickly reach 14-18″ by mid-summer. Shipping costs get higher as the season progresses because the plants get larger and heavier.In areas of extreme sun, bunch the Hyacinths close together in a floating ring link a hulla hoop. This can be made easily by taking a length of old garden hose and connecting both ends with a wooden dowel. The trapped air will float the ring and contain the plants, thus shading the delicate bulbs. Soon the new plants will hide the ring and and increase the cluster size. Rapid growing, divides easily, may not be legal to ship to some states. Check your local restrictions if you live in the deep south. No interstate Hyacinth shipments to FL, CA, GA, SC, TX. Yes, we CAN legally ship within Arizona. Just to clarify, all sellers ship floating pond plants bare root. When you lift a Hyacinth out of the water you have a bare root plant. There is no other way. Don’t let the foolishness confuse you.We have been supplying the garden centers for eight years because our mild winters give us a head start. If you have an early show and need mature plants, call.Do not believe that pond plants won’t survive in water cooler than 70 degrees. Some tell you this story because they are not ready to ship full bodied plants early in the year. Hyacinths, Primrose Creeper, Hardy Lilys, and Parrots Feather all start aggressive growth when the water reaches the mid fifties. The only plants to be extremely careful with are the Tropical Lilys. Plan on 70F or warmer to avoid dormancy in Tropical Lilys. Lastly, healthy Hyacinths put out as many as eight shoots which grow new plants. That’s 800% per year, working hard to bio-clean your pond. They do that best if they are in the path of moving water. We recommend no greater than 60-70% coverage in ponds. That’s 1 to 3 plants per square foot at seasons end. Plan accordingly.Our plants speak for themselves, look at our feedback from last season.We will schedule your shipment for a future date if prepaid and requested. Be sure to include your zip code with your request.These plants are picked one hour before being delivered to the Post Office on Mondays and Tuesdays only for distant deliveries to assure FRESHEST arrival. We recommend immediate repositioning into the pond, do not allow live plants to sit in the box longer than absolutely necessary. Dear Customer: Our feedback reflects NINE negatives from the 2009 season. One was due to a plant getting cooked when it took the Post Office a full week to deliver a Priority Mail package. (They claim 2-3 day delivery for Priority Mail). The other 8 were related to ONE transaction with “Pam”. Pam wrote us claiming that her plants never arrived and asked for a replacement. The delivery confirmation showed that they had been delivered to her two days before she contacted us. We confirmed with the Postal inspector for that area and they questioned her. She got mad about getting caught and left us 8 negative feedbacks. We asked eBay to remove them, but they stated that it was their policy to leave feedback untouched and they would not do anything about it.
